Traditionally oil, gas and electric AGAs were designed to be left on all the time. In this new age we find ourselves in, we thought there must be a better way! We wanted to retain the iconic style of an AGA cooker and retain the unique way that an AGA cooks but somehow make it into an on/off cooker. Some companies tried this but over complicated the design, incorporating printed circuit boards. PCB and heat is a bad idea and many of these new on/off cookers suffer expensive repair bills at an early stage of their life.
Our solution – keep the outside of the AGA, keep the ovens.
Then we found a company that already produces a kit of parts – the Electrikit. We combined our experience of AGA cookers together with a re-cycled, refurbished AGA and produced our own EcoAGA.
If you are looking to buy an On/Off type AGA two oven, three oven or four oven, we have the solution. We buy second hand AGAs (usually less than 20 years young). We totally strip them down, recycle the parts that we don't need and then the process of building your AGA cooker starts.
Every part is shot-blasted back to 'as new'. The front and doors are re-enamelled (vitreous enamel), the top plate, lid rings, lower rail holders are also re-enamelled. Then we add new chrome domes, new lid liners, new door lining and rope seals, new side panels and then finally combine it with a new Electrickit.
As an additional benefit, your EcoAGA will be giving out background heat from 6pm onwards, perfect for drying clothes on a chilly night.
If you find yourself at home all day, or are used to the background heat on chilly days the ovens can be left on at a low temperature - as well as the hobs (at low). This is possible because the parts we use (Electrickit) are designed to be left on.

Your renovated EcoAGA is then ready to cook beautifully and hasn't been stamping its carbon footprint or electrical bill whilst you were out!
